I appreciate your appreciating Alan's "Standing up for research, Texas records, etc..". But I am not sure what you are saying in that post. I am not refuting any records or what have you and definately not trying to say your Texas records are wrong or anything like that. But I am in touch with other relatives and descendents of Dr. A. L. Middleton and it is handed down in our family about him serving. But I have also been to the National Archives and seen Dr. A. L. Middleton's name on the Military record/muster rolls, etc., saying he was with the 2nd Texas and I have seen that A.K Middleton/s name there too. Perhaps those two Middletons were cousins or something and served together, who knows? But I have written Terry Hambrecht, an expert and researcher of Confederate Medical Personel and asked him to come to this message board and read my query and the subsequent entries. I hope he will and add some light to this. I am trying to get in touch with a couple of relatives also about it.
