If you know what medical school this man attended, it's possible a directory of former students and faculty exists which may include brief biographical summaries. It's worth checking.
Your post also provides a good example of why folks shouldn't put the cart in front of the horse. It's always best to examine the records and establish a reasonable identification for a soldier before deciding there's a family connection. Many different men share the same name or something very similar. You may also wish to use the Preview button to make corrections and additions before posting. For instance, I'm sure you didn't mean to write 1964 -- I'm not even clear that you meant 1864. I am sure you didn't mean to write 'Texsas' -- not on this board, anyway!
I make plenty of mistakes myself and often preview a message half a dozen times or more before posting. I previewed this post twice before posting!
