You might want to check out the new book: "John P. Gatewood: Confederate Bushwhacker." It is written by Larry Stephens, and is published by Pelican. Gatewood was born and raised in Fentress County; he served with Captain Bledsoe's company; served briefly with Champ Ferguson; and invaded Polk County late in 1864. Its a great read. Check it out.
