Re: Union City, Tennessee, Civil War Sites
You need to check the Official Records and/or unit histories for the facts. I have seen Forresters book years ago. Local "historians" at Union City and the museum there didn't even know that the Confederates at Camp Brown built "permanent" winter quarters there in 1861. As a past president of the Jackson Purchase Historical Society; military veteran; professionally trained historian; and a historian of the 3rd Regiment Kentucky Infantry, CSA, and the 7th Regiment Kentucky Infantry, CSA, and the 12th Regiment Kentucky Cavalry, CSA, I have thoroughly documented with primary research the heitage of my people.
