Military record of Rev. J.H. Gold

Attention Forum members

My wife's great grandfather the Rev. J.H. Gold joined the 48th Tennessee Regiment Company K.on November 1861 at age 21 years and fought for the Confederacy for the duration until 1865. I am interested in learning as much as possible about the campaigns that the 48th Tennessee Regiment fought in and the outcomes. I know from a short biography that Rev. Gold wrote in 1931 at age 91 years old that he suffered from disease during his enlistment and spent some time in hospitals recouperating, he also wrote that he was also captured and spent some time in a Lousiville KY. Union prison. I would appreciate whatever help you can give me on where I could best find more information on Rev. J.H. Gold and his military career. Thanking you in advance for your help.
