Capt.Elijah Foust Co.F,5th Tennessee Infantry

I wish I could share a photo of Capt. Elijah, however I do have a photo of his brother William Foust Jr. Co.E, 20th Tennessee Cavalry(Russell's) Pvt., William is buried at Double Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Along with Capt. Elijah Foust s' widow Mary CallowayFoust, Capt. Foust died at Camp Chase Ohio,Nov.25,1863 after the battle of Missionary Ridge, leaving 5 children. William is my GG Grandfather. I also have a photo of Capt. Nathaniel A. Wesson Co.B,51st Tennessee Infantry, who was the uncle to Mildred Ann Wesson Meredith wife of James Samuel Meredith Co.A,15th Consolidated Tennessee Cavalry(Stewart-Logwood's)Pvt. my other GGGrandfather, he had several cousins who rode in the 13th,19th, and 2nd Battalion Cavalry's. My question has to do with Capt. Wessons manuver on the field at Shiloh, Am I to understand that he was ordered to march his company in the face of the Union lines with I believe was a left wheel exposing their right flank? causing significant casualities? and since the marker at Shiloh is on the far right into the woods i'd assume that position would be vital to the safety of the regiments flanks, who gave that order anyway(if it's true)
