In Response To: Coleman's Scouts ()

One of the surviving members of the Coleman Scouts was my relative Joshua Brown. He was captured at the same time as Sam and since Joshua didnot have intelligence documents on his person they Yankees spared his life. Joshua wrote many articles after the war for the Confederate Veteran magazine and he lived in Nashville until 1924. Buried in clarksville Tn Riverview cemetery. His granddad Jesse Bailey and my gg granddad were brothers and makes me Joshua's second cousin twice removed.Joshua rose to rank of Major in the United Confederate Veterans organization.I stay in touch with one of the Brown relatives that is a direct Brown family ancestor. Joshua mom was Evalina susan Bailey Brown and his dad was also named joshua Brown.
