Burk, George W., Pvt., Co. K, born 1844, enlisted November 10, 1862 at Ooletewah, Tenn. for 12 months, captured and paroled at Vicksburg July 4-9, 1863, March 12, 1864 muster records “Absent detached service”, migrated to Texas in 1891, resided as a farmer in Ladonia, Fannin County, Tx. Due to old age, was admitted as a widower to the Confederate Veterans Home in Austin, Tx on September 23, 1927 where he died October. 4, 1928 (Confederate Home Roster, Record Group 303, Texas State Library)
