I just obtained Lt. Pickney Brandon's (he was 1st Sgt at the time) original note book detailing all of the soldiers who enlisted at Fort Donelson on Sept 20th, 1861 into Company D and it does list G.W. Barrow.

It's interesting as it lists the killed & wounded of Company D.

Send me an email and I'll arrange for you to have a copy of it. I'm in Stewart County as well.
