Thanks, Alan. Yeh, I think I know what the "B." stands for too. I wonder if he was real short and stuck his hand in his coat a lot? I suspect the personal property was his merchantile business rather than slaves but that's just a guess. This guy isn't a blood relative but instead was married to a great-grandaunt. I was just a little surprised to see a Union man, all the other kin there were Confederates. Thanks again.
