Sir , this very interesting . I found this in " The Camp Griffin Gazette " Green Mountain Civil War Round Table , which is in Vermont. The article was Ed Lilley and Greg Cassidy . Mysterious History of Civil War Saber it was 1840 Cavalry Sabre . Made by Ames . Mr. Lilley was discovered in1935 within a wall when Lilley's family home was torn down. This was in Whistler, Alabama and close to Mobile .
Here is reference Vol. XVII .No. # 3 - March 2009 . I found this interesting since I live Mobile County , Alabama. I found this by accident several years ago .
