Messrs. Nelson, Davis, and Grant have engaged in the manufacture of saltpetre in a cave in the "milk-silk knobs" of Monroe County, Tenn., where they have an abundant supply of material. They are also creating a powder mill on Sweetwater Creek, in Roane County. At the latter point they will have a heavy water power.
