Please comment on how Confederate Soldiers got home after the War.
Many tales have been told and there is much confusion.
For instance; One fellow was held in Fort Delaware,
After he took the Oath he was given passage on a Boat to Philadelphia (maybe),
Rail road Passage to Pittsburg,
Steam Boat Passage to Vicksburg.
His home was over in EastCentral Mississippi.
From Vicksburg, if he got home he had to walk
(there was no Rail road.)
which he did laying out his route.
