Zack - is there any mention of John P. Gatewood shooting George B. Barnes in the face [eye] and left for dead. Barnes lived to the year 1919. He was my 3rd great grandfather. He was run over by a train because he was blind due to the Gatewood shooting in October 1864 - he didn't have peripheral vision and miscalculated the distance of the train. He died from his injuries a few days later.
