I really appreciate your comments to me about that book and I will try to find it tonight. My great, grandfather was shot in the wrist with a mini ball at Gettysburg and he hid in the swamp with a friend who was also wounded, so that the medics wouldn't amputate his hand. My family threw away all of his letters but I do have the one and only tin type photo of him in uniform and several pictures of him after the Civil War was over. I used to be in the Air Force, 1963-1967, and just loved every minute of it. Thank you again for taking the time to respond to my request for help. I love your state; it is so beautiful. I've been to Tennessee 2 or 3 times but not recently.
