Thanks George, I've read about the Cansler brothers. I believe one applied for a pension ? His son was a principle for the Colored School in Knoxville and filed several papers on his Dad's behalf. I think the old gentleman died before it was approved. I had a James Land in Co. A of the 59th Tn. Wounded and paroled at Vicksburg. He returned to Monroe County and never went back. Went to Texas after the war along with a brother that deserted and went over to the Yankees. Two other brothers were in the 31st and 62nd. I had several kin in the 60th, 61st, and 62nd from Sullivan and Washington Counties.

Thanks for the heads-up on the book "Representation of Pandemonium" (I think that was you) I'm really enjoying it !!!
