Re: Clarksville TN CWRT - December meeting

Should be a great read ! I've lived in Sullivan County all my life. I've got paternal roots in Wilkes County, NC. Two LAND families among my ancestor/relatives migrated from Wilkes to Monroe and Sequatchie Counties in Tennessee during the 1830's. Both families were affected and divided during the war. In Sequatchie, brothers, William and Jesse Land, first joined Confederate Co.H 35th Tn. along with their brother-in-law, Abraham Wimberly. All three were caught by the Yankees while home on sick leave and never rejoined the Rebel Army. In March, 1865, William Land joined Co.E Union 6th Tn Mounted Infantry. They reportedly fought bushwhacker bands in southern Tennessee and Northern Georgia. Must have been a very bad place to be during that time ! I wonder if there's any info in the book on the Confederate 35th TN. and the Union 6th Tn Mtd Infantry ?
