Lindsley's Military Annals of TN, p. 213, states that the railroad accident between Mobile and Montgomery occurred while the 6th TN Inf was being transferred from Tupelo to Chattanooga...losing 5 or 6 men killed and 20 or 30 wounded. The Memorial Roll does not list anyone having died as result of train accident. There are 6 men listed with death dates of 10 & 27 April and 2, 20 & 22 May 1862.
