Lost Confederate soldier found "Shiloh"

According to the Confederate CMSR's records John H. James was with Company C of the 45th Regiment, Tennessee Infantry and enlisted in November of 1861 at age thirty-three. The Confederate CMSR's stated he was lost or killed at the Battle of Shiloh on April 6th. According to Federal POW records he was shot in the leg and died of wounds at Camp Dennison, Ohio on May 1, 1862. The newspaper "Cincinnati, Gazette dated April 18, 1862 on page one column seven listed his name and unit as Company C 45th Tennessee on board of the steamship the "Magnolia" The "Magnolia" was one of many steamships rented to the United States Sanitary Commission for the purpose of bringing back wounded both Union and Confederate from the Battle of Shiloh and brought back wounded to various cities along the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers.

While 31 of the Confederate dead were reinterred to Camp Chase from Cincinnati, Ohio in 1869 not all of the Confederate dead were brought back and some are at the Spring Grove, Cemetery in Cincinnati.

The 45th Iowa was formed in 1864 more than two years after Shiloh. The Spring Grove Cemetery listed a John H. James as died on May 1, 1862 and with the 45th Iowa. See Find A Grave Memorial# 21628289. In my opinion this is the grave of John H. James of Company C of the 45th Tennessee.
