David Crocket Harrison is my great great grandfather. Records reveal he was captured at the battle in Petersburg, VA and transferred to prison camp in Elmira, NY. He was released in a prisoner exchange towards the end of the war ( around March I believe ). He could not read or write and signed his name with an X. He died around end of 19th century.
