Dr., Carters Depot main purpose might of been a water stop.I neglected to give you the reference as to where you can locate. I have the book Mr. Martin mentioned.If you notice stops are 45min to an hour apart.The trains used alott of water(steam) especially on grades.
I have interest in the Confederate Medical Corp.and have read several books on it.My GGGrandfather mentions a Confederate Medical Officer while a POW in Atlanta but, actually it was a CSA treasury agent.I was curious on why he thought a medical officer.Do you have a picture of your DR.?They must of wore something to distinguish from a Reg. Military Officer.Thanks
