The Tennessee Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission leads a state effort to promote, fund and preserve the complete story of Tennessee's Civil War and its legacy. The 2013 Tennessee Sesquicentennial Civil War Signature Event "Occupation and Liberation" will be held October 9-12, 2013 at the Chattanooga Convention Center to help highlight the events of 1863 in Tennessee. The event will have many distinguished speakers and authors such as James Lee McDonough, Peter Cozzens, Richard McMurry, Sam Davis Elliot, Wiley Sword, William Glenn Robertson, Traci Nichols-Belt, Bobby Horton and many more.
