Morton's Battery/22nd AL Infantry

In searching Pvt. M. M. Gaines, of Calhoun County AL, I find that he is listed in both the 22nd AL Infantry and Morton's TN Artillery. His AL service record even has a note referencing "Martin's Battery" (I'm assuming this to be the same as Morton's), but has no details. It appears he first enlisted in Morton's TN Battery, but finished the war in the 22nd AL.

I've been unable to find any connections between the two units. No luck on the AL Board, either.

Any help appreciated.
