There was a George Daniel KEITT who served as 1LT and CPT in Co. I, 2d SC Artillery. He was b. 6 Oct 1818, in Orangeburg Dist., SC, d. 8 Oct 1871, in Charleston, SC, and is buried there in Magnolia Cemetery.
