Hey Everyone, I am trying to conduct research on individuals with the last name of Loomis who served in South Carolina units during the War. I have several names of individuals who served, and if anyone knows about or is related to these individuals, I would sure appreciate a reply.

John H. Loomis 2nd Regiment, SC Cavalry
John H. Loomis 1st Regiment, SC Infantry
T. D. Loomis 2nd Regiment, SC Infantry (2nd Palmetto Regiment)
Thomas Loomis 2nd Regiment SC Infantry (2nd Palmetto Regiment.
W. Loomis 7th Batallion, SC Infantry (Nelson's) (Enfield Rifles).

Some of these names are very similar, so I suspect they may be the same person. I am new to family research, and I am trying to put the pieces together of the Southern lines of people I suspect were part of our larger family and find out more about them. I would sure appreciate it if you know of the in your own research, can point me in the right direction, or give some assistance or advice on where to start looking. Thanks all!
