Hello all,
Does anyone know where this pic was taken. The caption said that it was Co. "C" (Columbia Greys), 2nd S.C. Vols and that was Robert Shand standing with the blacks (the corporal). This was my gr gr grandfather's unit and Shand mentioned him in his memoirs. I would like to know when and where this pic was taken. Go to
http://www.blackconfederatesoldiers.com/confederate_uniforms_58.html# and scroll down and you will see it. I like it because it shows the soldiers wearing dark trim, probably blue, on cuffs, collars and cap bands. So many reenactors today think you should have no trim on uniforms. I personally believe CS troops were better dressed than people think.
Thanks,
Dave
