McBeth Light Artillery Regt SCA

On 24 March 1862, in Laurens, SC, Charles King (b: 1837) enlisted in Cpt Jeter's McBeth Lt Arty for the duration of the war. He was apparently assigned to Co E. On 12 Feb 1864, he was granted a 30 day furlough by the Hospital Executive Board (reason and location unspecified). I can find no further civil war record or census record regarding his post furlough status. Was he a prisoner, war casualty or released at the end of the war?
