Loudon Butler (my great-granduncle) migrated to Bossier Parish, Louisiana in 1858, where his father, Pierce Mason Butler, former governor of SC, etc., established his dwelling plantation.

Major Loudon Butler served in Bossier Parish's 19th Regiment, CSA; he was killed at the Battle of Chickamauga (Tennessee) in 1863. His brother Edward Julian ("Ebby") Butler was killed in action at the Battle of Malvern Hill in 1862. The article this site if probably referring to is that of "Miss Marie Abney," which is incorrect--obviously Pierce Mason Butler's two sons died a year apart.
