I am researching John Smith. He is buried in a small cemetery in Westminister S.C. off Coffee Road. His headstone says he was in the 11th infantry company E. I can't seem to make that fit in with the area he lived in back then. Can anyone help? I know Oconee was Pickens county then. The 11th came seems to come from the lower part of the state.
