Battle at Charleston sets record
2 popular Charleston SC and Civil War related web sites set new All-Time 1 day web traffic records yesterday. With April 12, 2011 being the 150th Anniversary of The Civil War starting in Charleston SC, a significant traffic boost was obviously expected.
CharlestonBatterytour. com, which offers a 360 Degree Virtual Tour of the historic battery in downtown Charleston, had 1,671 page impressions according to Google. This is 10 times more unique visitors than this highly-optimized website usually has on a daily basis.
BattleAtCharleston.com, which offers rare photos and local maps of The Civil War (1861-65) and local Revolutionary War battles too, had 1,339 page impressions according to Google. That's about 12X more unique visitors than this highly-optimized site usually gets.
