Youngest ever Confederate officer.
Can anyone confirm who was the youngest ever Confederate officer to have served during the war, please?
An Australian web site indicates that there was a soldier who was a sergeant by the age of about seven or eight, and a lieutenant before he was aged ten. This Confederate soldier is indicated to be buried in Queensland, Australia. See

This would seem to be a world record, and I would like to find out if this soldier, who served in a South Carolina unit was indeed the youngest to have attained his commissioned rank before he reached his tenth birthday.
