Long time no see!! Good to see you are still posting. Yes there does appear to be a formal deed registered, I have just got to find who has it. I have found info that the deed was not registered until 1841 for 125 acres of Charleston harbor. Not sure all conditions were met by the Feds to give them clear ownership of the land. I have a letter from the SC Archives that may hold the answer, gonna cost me 20 to find out!!!
