F.M. Day was my ggggrandfather. All the information I have found shows he was wounded on 5/6/1864 and died of wounds on 5/8/1864. I heard from another family researcher once that his wife went to Virginia trying to find him and caught a fever and died there too. Have no idea where either were buried. His son was William Thomas Day and grandson was Stephen Frank Day.
