Doris:

I am delighted we made contact. Henry A. Belk, father, and Sumter Belk, son, both served in G/Hampton Legion Infantry. Henry was discharged overage 8 Sep 62, while Sumter was discharged for minority on the same date. I have some material on each of them, and am seeking the place and date of death for Henry, and other information. Please contact me at Sturkey@wctel.net. I would very much like to share information and get any insight on these two men.

Henry was later in the 20th S. C. Militia and was present at the battle of Dingle's Mill 9 Apr 65. Sumtewr reenl in K/3 (Palmetto) S.C. Light Artillery Battalion, and transferred to B/15 S.C. (Lucas') Heavy Artillery Battalion. He was paoed at High Point N. C. at the end of the war.

Thanks. Lee
