I just sent you a detailed e-mail professing profound thanks for your efforts and to ask, if it is possible, to ascertain if Charles S. Davis was a member of the 148 proud men who surrendered their weapons-but not their Honor-on 10 April 1865 in Appomatox? I cannot find a parole list anywhere.
Thanks to everyone who has helped..I am being inducted into the Sons of Confederate Veterans next month here in Richmond because of my kinship with Private Davis!!
