Lee:

In that listing of 1858 Grads, you show a J.F. Presley, which I believe is James Fowler Pressley, Col., 10/19th S.C. Inf and an MD here in Calif until he died 1878 in San Francisco. James is buried in the family plot in Fairfield , CA, old cemetery including his mother, and brother in law Daniel Dwight Barr, Comissary/Capt 25th S.C. Inf and Guillaird's Light Battery "Santee". James older brother was the C.O. of the 25th S.C. 1862-64, Lt. Col John Gotea Pressley, highly esteemed Superior Court Judge, and he is buried here in the Santa Rosa Rural cemetery and an attraction on our tours. Both men have family markers with no notation of their service and John has a VA marker also and James has a bronze marker by a Dozier/Pressley clan descendant, Wade Hamptom Dozier, at the time of it's UDC/SCV dedication a few years ago where I was the orator of James's story.
