Re: John Jackson Kirkland

I had found this info on Stephen McKee, his father being John McKee and mother Nancy Weston but cannot make the link into Greene County Tennessee( b1780 ) although the time line fits. I found a John Mackay in Monroe Co. TN and then a John McKee in agriculture and male voters for 1840 but there is no reference to Stephen anywhere. There was also a Col. John Mckee in the area of Monroe, Blount Co TN in the late 1700's early 1800's but he didn't have a family that I can find. He later became a Congressman from Alabama so unless Stephen was his bastard son it rules him out.

I have tried to track down any ancestors of Stephen McKee and most of what I find on Ancestry is that Stephens father was John Telford McKee and a Nancy Hannah from Virginia although there are no children of this John and Nancy listed as a Stephen. In addition it shows Stephens first wife as a 15 year old Elizabeth B Mowry or Lowry (m1838) and second wife as Elizabeth Thomas (m1851). To date I have not found any death records of Stephen Mckee nor any burial locations in and around Loudon, McMinn or Monroe Counties of east Tennessee.
