And also for George P.

George, Find a Grave Memorial # 87674412 has an In Memory of Stone for Richard B. Pittman in Walthall County and has a photograph of him. This is in contrast of what the National Cemetery Administration says. Now it comes down to sources. From what source does the NCA use as his body being at the Thomas Cemetery? And from what source does the Find A Grave contributor use as their source for being buried in a National Cemetery? Only after analyzing the two sources could you make an intelligent decision. Some Find A Grave contributors are very good and some not so good. I don't believe the NCA would use Find A Grave for their source of information. The In Memory Stone seems to have been fairly recent within the past twenty years from looking at the stone.

The Western and Atlantic Railroad would have been open to the Confederates to Atlanta, Georgia in September and October 1863. Was there a railroad that went to or near Walthall County in September and October 1863? And if there was did the Union either hold or destroy the railroad in either Alabama or Mississippi in route to Walthall County?
