“AFFAIRS OF PENSACOLA”

“The Warrington correspondent of the Pensacola Observer writes on the 9th”

“About 8 o’clock this morning a gun was fired from a ship outside, which was answered from Fort Pickens by the firing of a gun from the Fort.

I learned this morning that private orders had been received from Montgomery that if any vessel or vessels attempted to hand troops or provisions at Fort Pickens, such vessel or vessels were to be fired upon."
