Because I only read period books on the war I lose a lot of knowledge sometimes. In a newspaper article in May of 1862 it was noted that Private Samuel B. Todd was the brother in law to President Lincoln and killed at the Battle of Shiloh. Looking at fold 3 I did see a Private S. B. Todd with the 24th Louisiana and under remarks it said brother in law of Abe Lincoln. I knew about Helm's at Chickamauga but not about Todd at Shiloh.
