I think the argument has somewhat moved away from "no Black Confederates" to " no ARMED Black Confederates" despite the mountain of information offered. At least that is what I get by reading Al Mackey's blog at https://studycivilwar.wordpress.com/2016/04/30/the-confederate-debate-about-arming-the-slaves-2/ (Dated April 2016)

Glenn I am sure you are familiar with Mackey and his circle of jerks. At any rate it seems that John Coski has thrown his hat in the ring pretending he actually knows something. I did not watch the video simply because I cannot hear well enough any more.

I have done quite a bit of leg work on the Confederate position of arming the slaves, we know they did, so no argument there, we know they were duly enlisted under the CSA Constitution, no argument there, they were both free and slave no argument there, and we have firsthand accounts from the men who fought against them and with 6them so no argument there. What is not found is a law prohibiting the CSA army from arming the slaves and the absence of law allowing for TOTAL BLACK units until 1865. This is the total argument in a nutshell.

I have addressed most of Mackey's lies at my blog Cold Southern Steel, I am not sure I caught this one. At any rate he has slacked up some in writing about his hate for the Confederacy.
