Hello George, Somewhat like David I'm trying to help Attala County, Mississippi as much as possible with their history of the war. However unlike David I'm only assisting and not in charge of anything.

I'm a firm believer in helping local Mississippi communities with their history. Too many times the MDAH which is a wonderful and tremendous source for information in Jackson, Mississippi dominates the State.

Kosciusko, Mississippi is where the Attala Courthouse sits. At the Kosciusko library is a small research room for genealogists and is run by Ann Breedlove who is a dear personal friend of mine. Ann is a wealth of information and has access to many important records including Judge Niles diaries.

The soldier in question is a descendant of Ann's. Ann now has all of his pension records that can be viewed at the library. Ann only has one descendant who was a galvanized Yankee.

Ann will also have all of my Camp Chase research which amounts to more than 3/4 of a million words now in her collection but yet unfinished. Some of which is raw research and only deals with the Camp Chase dead. My research will only be available at Kosciusko. However it's not my research that should motivate others to Kosciusko and my research is but a drop in the bucket compared to what they have to offer.

I don't believe Ann will give you information over the phone but she might? I would like folks to visit the town of Kosciusko and learn what they have to offer. I've been to many Mississippi towns over the years including Kosciusko. So to promote this wonderful Mississippi community George I am asking you to visit the Kosciusko genealogy room and you will find your answers and perhaps much more.
