There are no detailed accounts of ambushes in any records. Maybe in Knights sons writings, but he only embellished the truth. There were ambushes by groups of 3-5 deserters on small groups of home guard. But no real details. The only detailed account of an ambush was by Confederates on the deserters. A Captain Cooper infiltrated a deserter wedding with his men and captured the whole lot. This is recorded in detail in the papers.
