For one thing, after Nat Turner was executed his body was skinned and someone made a lampshade out of it. "The Confessions of Nat Turner" is a fascinating book though it is based on the author's imagination as much as history. As for the ignorant white boy, I refuse to even state his name. p.s. I read the book in 1974 and kept it. It is won a Pulitzer Prize in 1968.
