Recently I was asked if Knight belonged to the 7th Regt. Miss. Inf. since he was from Jones County, I suggested he look in the 7th Battn. from that county. He claimed he joined in 1861 but the 7th Battn. was formed in May 1862. Now I know he joined the 8th Miss., came home and joined the 7th Battn. Not conscripted. His lie says it all about his character.
