Jim, Would you think it worthy if we had a "Cemetery Board"?
There are a lot of us that do Cemetery research and work, right now our camp is involved in cleaning a cemetery that has not had any attention in probably 25+ years. We have issues with repairing head stones and markers that I feel sure people on these boards could help us with. Also we just found a cemetery in the middle of some woods, with a Confederate Cav. Capt. buried there. Being a rural County, no one even knew there was a Cav. unit from that county.
There are a lot of men and women out there that find a grave such as we just did that have questions, or even to just post what they have found for others to use as material for research. I know FAG is wonderful for such purposes, but a lot of times they do not have such things as military service, and for the most part they do not know if they were involved in the WBTS.
I have found many things that I question, recently I found 2 Confederate (or are they) graves side by side, the head stones are very unique, and not of VA issue, both are buried in a very remote cemetery, and both died in Oct. 1863, One on the 9th the other on the 10th. No one knows anything about them, or why they are buried in such a remote area away from any hospitals, I would bet some one on these boards would have an answer.
Please consider this, if you have any questions please email me at, taw87ga@gmail.com
Just an idea, if you think it would help tie our WBTS Community together,.
