What was exactly going on with the 26th Virginia Infantry at Petersburg on September 11th 1864?

I was wondering if anyone in the Regiment saw pvt. James West fall? (Brother to my ancestor Benjamin West.)

If I remember correctly there was a book published by the Mathews Country UDC called "Reminisces of Confederate Veterans of Gloucester" or something like that.

I know it's slim but I was just wondering if I could know the particulars surrounding the combat death of my ancestor.

Any help at all would be most welcome.

(And yes I've read the book on my ancestor's unit.)
