David, I should have realized there were many newspaper in San Francisco during the war. I believe the newspaper I was referring to was the "Democratic Press" and it changed to the "Daily Examiner" in 1865 and subsequently just became the "Examiner." Somewhere in my juxtaposition's with the Camp Chase biographies I have it listed but I don't have them broken down to a separate category of juxtapositions and there are over 2,000 bio's. When I see it again I'll let you know if you are interested in the exact date.
