Possible hint for finding old cemeteries

The following came from the history of Spaulding County, Georgia and deals with finding old abandoned cemeteries in the South.

"Old-timers in the area say that if you find myrtle (vinca minor) growing in woods or fields, you will find a cemetery nearby. The little evergreen groundcover was used so often to beautify small graveyards that it came to be known as ""graveyard grass.""
