Re: At what stage of the war could CSA have won it

Perhaps a veteran Confederate army under RE Lee would have destroyed McClellan at the 7 days battles in 62.

In addition Grant was often close to being fired by Halleck early in his career. Perhaps a more determined Confederate assault at Donelson or Shiloh would have meant no Grant for the remainder of the war.
